XIO is proud of six dynamic years supporting leaders in the defense, federal, and commercial sectors. Our clients include:

Alien Technology Corp.
XIO provided Alien Technology, a foremost global manufacturer of RFID products and technologies, with change management, outreach and communications, and education/training support services. Alien, a supplier of RFID technology support to DoD, is faced with the challenge of ensuring that all Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) personnel and their Suppliers receive training relevant to DoD RFID policy and initiatives. DoD and DLA need to communicate RFID requirements to approximately 60,000 suppliers. XIO's change management, outreach and communications, and training support for Alien helped ensure that DLA's Distribution personnel and Suppliers received the requisite information and training needed to understand and meet DoD's RFID requirements.

Department of the Navy (Navy AIT Office)
XIO is currently providing strategic planning services for the Navy Automatic Identification Technology (AIT) Office, with an integral role in the development and implementation of the Navy’s AIT Concept of Operations (CONOPS). XIO is assisting the Navy with applying the Department of Defense policy statement endorsing the rapid implementation of RFID. By serving as the Navy’s “trusted advisor,” XIO is providing RFID subject matter expertise focused on effective implementation of RFID systems. In these efforts, XIO has been leading the passive RFID (pRFID) Implementation at Oahu and Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, by collaborating to build the right pRFID hardware and software package for implementation.

Under Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration - RFID Policy Office
The RFID Policy issued by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (USD[AT&L]) in October 2003 states that DoD must take advantage of the inherent capabilities of RFID technology to improve business functions and facilitate all aspects of the DoD supply chain. XIO provides strategy design and implementation in the areas of change management, communications and education to support the rollout of RFID technology throughout the DoD logistics arena. As part of this effort, XIO developed and conducted training sessions for all internal DoD stakeholders and external suppliers to DoD on this policy and the respective requirements.

Throughout the evolution of the RFID initiative, XIO has assisted in the development of the communications strategy and plan, and in reaching major milestones in the overall program plan. By implementing a communications plan, delivering targeted messages to key stakeholders, and monitoring the clarity and impact of these messages upon the target audience, XIO continues to enhance a timely communications strategy that will determine the best messages for the identified critical audiences.

Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics - UID Policy Office
The UID Policy issued by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (USD[AT&L]) in July 2003, made UID a mandatory DoD requirement for all solicitations issued on or after 1 January 2004. Due to the complexity of this requirement, many suppliers found it difficult to understand and navigate through policy requirements.

To counter this difficulty, XIO is pioneering change management efforts to encourage large scale adoption and facilitate integration of UID technology by providing targeted training and support for all DoD suppliers. By applying its expertise in the areas of Asset Visibility Technology and Automated Identification Technology, XIO has developed outreach materials to communicate UID policy and implementation requirements to DoD and its vendors. The resulting solutions include the creation and delivery of a UID training strategy; development of multiple online UID tools (including tutorials, toolkit websites, and videos); outreach to media to create UID awareness; and the design of a Change Management Communication Plan to define the specific requirements needed to optimize UID implementation.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center
Together with its partner, Occoquan Crew Technologies, XIO Strategies is developing a change management initiative that includes promoting the Medical Center’s emerging health care hospitality program, assisting with public communications, as well as developing internal communications and recognition programs, all in support of the institution’s goal of improving customer service and the patient care experience.
